3 Tips for Social Media Posting
Social Media Posting for Your Business
Social media is a great way to drive traffic to your website and generate leads and sales. However, in order for social media posting to work for you, you have to make it work. Here are a few tips on how to use social media to stay connected with your followers.
Develop a Schedule
You need to develop a social media schedule that you’re going to stick to. Infrequent postings will lead to stagnant growth. Each social media platform is different. On Facebook, for example, two times a day is a great schedule to stick to. Twitter’s messages are shorter and get pushed down news feeds quickly, so tweeting five to 10 times a day is okay. Studies have shown that the recommended Pinterest postings per day for businesses is five. You can also use a tool like Tweriod to find out when your Twitter following is most active, and plan your schedule around that.
Use a Scheduling Tool
If you plan on tweeting five to 10 times a day, you can’t keep going on Twitter hour after hour. Instead, use a tool to schedule your postings in advance. Buffer and HootSuite are the most popular. You can even schedule your postings days in advance.
Don’t Be Overly Promotional
If you want to connect with your followers, don’t use social media as a way to just blast out links to your site. Also include links to other sites and to interesting and popular content in your niche. You should also post messages that don’t have links at all and consist of just tips, tricks and quotes. Tweets without links actually get more engagement than tweets with links.
